VW AND PORSCHE IRS AXLES

Sway-A-Way axles are designed with tough applications in mind. Available in two different grades of aircraft steel, these axles are heat treated and centerless ground to a smooth finish. The end
diameters have been maximized to get the highest face contact area possible. This minimizes wear between the axle and the CV. The splined length has been increased to 2 1/2"-3" to allow the CV to float on the axle. These axles are designed to twist like a torsion bar under heavy loads, absorbing a large portion of the
shock transmitted from the wheel to the gear box. Tech Tip: The type of grease used in the CV joints is extremely important. Moly Sulfide based grease is good for most applications. For racing, other high temp greases may be necessary. If the CV joints are over heating and turning the axle spline blue, lubrication is usually the problem.
